TAG Heuer Accelerates with Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963

Celebrating the spirit of innovation and charisma of racing, TAG Heuer and Porsche continue to collaborate. The latest timepiece to emerge from a partnership on and off the track that dates back to the 1950s is the Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963, a self-winding chronograph with a cool skeletonized dial layout, a “tubular” carbon bezel and an innovative luminescent concept. Several details, like the Porsche logo on the bezel, the strap and the case side pay homage to the legendary sports car.

As Porsche and TAG Heuer fans can guess from the name, the new watch is dedicated to the Porsche 963, which is currently competing in the 92nd edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours. It features an advanced internal combustion engine capable of running on renewable fuels, with its origins in the Porsche 918 Spyder road car. The Porsche 963 has won on many famous race tracks around the world.

“In celebration of Porsche’s racing successes, we are extremely proud to have worked on such a timepiece with our partner. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 is an exceptional horological piece that represents all the values we stand for: design excellence, endurance, and the surpassing of one’s limits. We particularly look forward to Porsche’s performance this year and wish all the best to the Porsche team on the racetracks.”

Julien Tornare, CEO of TAG Heuer

Limited to just 963 pieces worldwide, the Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 is a tribute to the name of the race car and combines automotive engineering with watchmaking. Inspired by Porsche’s innovative LED light design on the Porsche 911, the sub dials feature four Superluminova blocks that illuminate the Porsche lettering on the bezel, the chronograph counters, markers, hands and date display at 6 o’clock, in dark.

Crafted with boldness and technical sophistication, the watch features a striking skeleton dial with tubular shapes reminiscent of Porsche racing car chassis – reflecting the minimalist yet robust construction seen in motorsport. The forged carbon bezel reflects the lightweight, high-performance components of the Porsche 963, reinforcing both the aesthetics and the connection to motorsport.

The 44mm diameter, 100 meter water-resistant stainless steel case features a polished DLC steel crown and pushers. Its exhibition caseback reveals the in-house TH20-00 movement with an 80-hour power reserve, featuring a personalized red column wheel and vertical clutch in action. Its oscillating mass in the form of a steering wheel is another nod to Porsche.

The shape of the watch’s rubber strap is inspired by the NACA-style low-drag air intakes often found on Porsche racing cars dating back to the record-breaking Porsche 917, another subtle nod to the shared heritage of endurance racing.

Pricing is marked at CHF 9,000 or approximately $10,000 when converted to USD.
